Since I really enjoyed painting the Totem Face #1 recently, I decided to once again divert from my regularly scheduled projects and paint another small canvas based on this Totem iPhone wallpaper I made. While my last canvas diversion had a very different color palette, this time I stuck with a more traditional one. I will definitely be doing more of these, but it will probably be a bit down the road as I need to get back to some other projects.

This one is already up on my wall, but it is available for purchase in the Reactor-88 online store in case someone out there likes it more than I do.

While it seems most folks are mainly just interested in my totem toys, I really enjoy good ol’ painting on canvas. Recently I was feeling a bit burned out (again) just working on commissions and event pieces, so I decided to take a little bit of time and do something on my personal to-do list. I’ve always thought it would be cool to turn all the totem faces I’ve created over the years into pieces of 2D artwork, but of course that would probably take me the rest of my life. So for this diversion I picked a favorite of mine from a recent project and had at it. Again I went with some totally different colors for this one, as part of my quest of exploring different palettes and having a bit of fun. I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out and already have plans for my next diversion project.

I recently completed an 8″x10″ Spirit Totem canvas painting based on my Skelanimals Qee design. It’s now up for sale in my Reactor-88 online store.
