Totem Jaws & 2012
Sunday, February 5th, 2012Here’s my first commission for 2012- the Totem Jaws. I finished it a while back, but have held off from posting about it until the piece was in the hands of the client. A few more pics of this piece can be found over at my Flickr.
So it’s already 2012- man how time flies. I’ve been a little lax on the posting here, but I’m hoping to pick it up again. In general 2011 was a little slow for me- I did very few shows and didn’t put out too many customs. Part of that could be attributed to a small touch of burnout. I’m not a full-time artist and only do this stuff for the love of it, and mid to late last year it started not being as fun as it used to be. With that I slowed things down a lot, took a bit of a break around the holidays and cleared my head a bit, and so far this year I feel almost like my old self again. I’m hoping to continue that push all the way through 2012. There’s a handful of things that have me looking forward to 2012, the biggest probably being that I’m finally going to make my own resin toy. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a couple years now, and I think I’ll finally be able to do it this year. If things go well, I’m hoping it’s just the start of some big things. While I still plan to do a handful of shows and commissions, I really want to start doing my own thing more and more and see where it takes me…
