Earth Totem Element – Artoyz Exhibit

Reactor-88 Earth Totem Element

I recently completely my custom painted 8-inch DIY Artoyz Earth Element figure for Artoyz’ upcoming Element Exhibition. The 8-inch Element is a brand new DIY figure, which is a scaled up version of their popular Elements mini-figure platform toy. This figure was a bit more challenging for me to work on, as I couldn’t get it all apart like I usually do. I came very close to breaking the figure while trying to get it apart, so instead of forcing it apart and taking my chances (since I was on a very quick timeline I knew they wouldn’t have enough time to send me another piece if I needed it) I ended up painting this guy in one shot. I also used cel vinyl paint once again. I wanted some specific “earthy” colors that just weren’t available in paint marker form. I wish I had a bit more time as I would’ve liked to have added more detail, but all in all I’m very happy with how my it turned out. I’m very excited to be a part of this show, as there is a great line-up of artists spanning the globe. Artoyz created a pretty cool little exhibit press release/booklet with a little feature on each artist- very cool. So if you happen to be in Paris on September 24th, be sure to stop by the Artoyz gallery store and check out the show.
